the first meeting to rewrite popular writer IBRAHIM WAHEED BINMAA’s script was held yesterday at 1530 hours at Synthiyana Restaurant. i joined with head of B/W Productions creative department MOHAMED SHAREEF and the script writer IBRAHIM WAHEED himself. SHAREEF and i discussed on changes that can be brought to the script to make it more darker since the theme of the plot was about a man’s decadence.

 

IBRAHIM WAHEED agreed to our points and said that he would make the discussed changes as soon as possible. he will create a new first act that will strengthen act two and three. furthermore, an additional change to the final scene will also be made creating more empathy towards the protagonist regardless of his character being an anti-hero.

 

the meeting went till 1730 and personally it was an honor for me to sit with IBRAHIM WAHEED. we will have another sitting once he makes the necessary changes. looking forward to that meeting as well. 

director FATTHAAH has assigned high profile director NIMAL in charge of  few days of shooting. NIMAL flew to Ha. Kelai yesterday evening. NIMAL and FATTHAAH will coodinate over the phone on which scenes to shoot first. FATTHAAH is currently in Male’ attending his ill son.

episode 8 of KURAMEY VADHAA’EE SALAAM was aired on TVM last night. the plot thickens with ZUHURA forced to marry MANIK whom she doesn’t love. ZUHURA has fabricated an illness that will keep MANIK away from her, in sexual terms i mean, ahem! obviously JIMMY is shattered over ZUHURA’s marriage. But upon hearing ZUHURA’s fabrication, the episode ends when JIMMY returns to MALE’. his motives will be revealed in the coming episodes.

 

i haven’t recieved much comments to this episode at the time of publishing this article. but some people found the first night scene between ZUHURA and MANIK humorous. also some didn’t like the extent of JIMMY crying on a beach when ZUHURA marries. tells me that was a bit too much. but hey, everyone reacts differently. that was how JIMMY reacted.  

director Fatthaah has cut short his shooting in Ha. Kelai and returned Male’ on an emergency. his 1 year old son has been admitted to hospital after burns (to what extent i don’t know) from a hot water thermous cracked on to his chest. his son’s condition is severe.

 

Fatthaah is scheduled to fly back to Ha. Kelai on coming Thursday, that is if his son is discharged from the hospital. Fatthaah will go back to Ha. Kelai with an actor who will be appearing for episodes 30 and onwards.

 

Fatthaah has also thought of sending back another high profile director to shoot in his absence. he has made talks with two directors and is awaiting their confirmation. but i have suggested him not to send any since only he can follow the characters and the plot line of the script. let’s see what he is going to do…

episodes 28 to 32 of HINITHUNVELAASHEY KALAA will be dispatched to director FATHHAAH. the dispatch will be sent via the 2 actors introduced in episodes 30 to 32 who will be joining cast and crew of the serial tomorrow.

 

fatthaah who had to cancel most of his outdoor shooting last week was upbeat yesterday. he wrapped up several exterior scenes since the weather was kind on him

am set to rewrite a screenplay written by famous writer IBRAHIM WAHEED (BIMMAA). i have read the first 6 scenes of the screenplay which contains a total of 78 scenes. IBRAHIM WAHEED presented this screenplay free of charge to the head of creative department of B/W Productions, MOHAMED SHAREEF. 

 

this project will go behind the camera to be directed by SHAREEF himself under the B/W banner. since B/W have consiladated funding for this project from a local producer, this will be a joint production between B/W and the company of the producer. as you might have guessed, the producer and his production company are undisclosed here for several reason which i cannot disclose. oh my!

 

the story revolves around a photographer who develops a psychotic infatuation towards a newly married woman who comes to a wedding shooting at his studio, with her husband!

thank you for your very constructive comments. improves my writing and best of all identifies the areas am weak at. i assure you that that i will consider the ideas you have given me. thanks again and keep those comments coming.

 

as for your million dollar question on when i am going to direct just anything, am sorry to tell you that right now i am commited to several writing projects. hopefully, once am done with these projects i will start thinking on directing. i know my answer is disappointing but just bear with me like you have bore through my ultra corny dialogues and unbelievable events taking place in those serials i have written.

last night at 2020 hrs sharp i completed episode 32 on a sad note, not on my part i mean… story wise that is. as for me, am feeling free. but that will be for a short while before i start working on the final 20 episodes. that will happen once director abdul fatthaah returns from kelai hopefully after wrapping up shooting for all 32 episodes.

 

episode 32 ends when, sorry i couldn’t tell regardless of how much tempted i am to give all the details. as mentioned earlier 32 ends on a sad and depressing note. thats for sure!

 

fatthaah reported from on location that  a major two part dramatic scene was shot yesterday. he guaranteed that he squeezed the acting chops out of every actor involved in that scene and he is satisfied.

yes! am down to 1 more episode to finish off the story in Kelai. however, the final 20 episodes will take place in Male’. director fatthaah who has finished reading up to episode 27 says that he is more than satisfied. but he wants me not to fill scenes with too many extras. so don’t blame if the feel of some scenes turn too dull once the serial is aired on TVM at the end of JULY.

 

the final 2 scenes of episode 31 is a re-enactment of one of the most famous historical event of maldivian history. an event that really took place long time back between maldivian warrior mohamed thankurufaanu and his wife to be, faathuma. okay, stop! am going overboard portraying the entire scene. but i am in love with those two scenes. hope its translated to screen just the way i have visualized. i have faith in director fatthaah.

 

two new characters have been added to episode 30. these two characters will play a major part till the end of 52 episodes. sorry, i don’t feel like disclosing who they are.

 

 

 

  

episode 7 of KURAMEY VADHAA’EE SALAAM was aired on TVM last night. the only remark was on the dialog used, again! this time the phone call scene between ZUHURA and JIMMY sound too corny especially the monologue of jimmy where he says that zuhura is his sun, moon, stars, 365 days, 12 months, 7 days, 24 hours and so on. my god! did i really write that? that’s a tad too much even for corny. guess i could have finished the whole episode with that scene where jimmy can compare zuhura to as many things he could think of, like she is the chip in his mobile phone or she is the motherboard of his computer… or whatever!
