This weakened heart has been splattered all over by your enticing love. That’s my own interpretation of a line from the item song of upcoming Dhivehi film Hahdhu. It’s a rendition of a popular song made famous by the harmonium playing musician, late Naifaru Dhohokko.

The song for the film was written by renowned musician Mohamed Theyra especially for a situation in the film where it’s included as an item song with an alluring dance cameo by up-and-coming actress Nuzhath Shuaib. If the audience doesn’t get uplifted by her moves, then she will definitely make them swaying. Unbeknownst, I did while watching the final cut of the song today.

Most importantly, this song makes use of developing the character arc of one of the important supporting actors in the film. I wouldn’t want to spoil the fun by revealing who plays the character but kudos to that actor and also director Abdul Faththaah for making the best use of the lyric of the song to establish inside out of this particular character. But it all comes down to this actor for creatively using only body language to nail the part. Applause!
